"Just wish it didn't go out of production!" 2010-01-07
By Grace D. Ivumbi (Winchester,VA)
I have used the sound system for barely a month, but just love every bit of it.I hope sony comes up with a superior product than this one since they took it out of production.Considering it's features & sound quality,i wanted to purchase another one by the end of the year for my other family. Though it's a bit expensive,i prefer it to the bose because of the blue ray feature and digital sound.

 "Great System" 2009-12-30

Could not believe the sound form such small speakers. Everything works great and easy to use.

"Nice sounding Bluray Home Theater" 2009-12-29
By EliasV (Seattle, WA)
I bought this unit regardless all the reviews about the rear speakers not pairing. It's a solvable problem, it's a pity Sony hasn't offered a more hassle-free solution (i.e. shipping the transceiver adaptor when purchasing the unit#

Cons:

- Pairing of rear speakers:

I've experienced the same wireless connectivity issues as all others. When you use a cheap HDMI cable and set the system's output resolution higher than 480i, the rear speakers won't pair. Called Sony, spent 1.5hours for this known issue #ridiculous on Sony's part) and they sent me the transceiver adaptop/extender, which solved the problem. This extender is bulky and adds cable behind your system. Also, I purchased a high quality HDMI cable, and I'm now using the system without Sony's extender. Works perfectly, no problems pairing anymore.

- Lack of features:

It's nice piece of equipment, it should have other online features such as NetFlix etc.

- Speaker size limiting sound:

While the system is really powerful and sounds great, when you listen to your favorite stereo CD the small speakers are not enough to deliver good, clear sound. My music sounds better through $30 headphones.

Pros:

- Main unit looks great

- Speaker size easy to fit anywhere

- 5.1 sound for movies, sports etc. is absolutely awesome

- AFB Multi mode is good for non-5.1 sources: makes the sound come out of all speakers

- Great DVD upscaling

Overall I'm really happy with the system's sound and picture quality. I've had the unit for over a month. I would recommend it especially if you find it on sale.

 "Met my expectations." 2009-12-29
By H. Ragin (New York, NY)
AFter reading my reviews of this product, the main concern I had was the connectivity of the wireless rear speakers. My family room is tiny, 10 x 11 with a diagonal corner wall for a fireplace. I needed a small unit and wireless rear speakers because I have no basement and hardwood floors. The set-up went without a hitch and the golfball sized speakers are unobtrusive in the room. Sound and full-featured BR Disc player work quite well. My only wish would be for additional inputs (another HDMI and an Aux with Audio & Video).

I knew this was a mid-quality system but it's size and performance have easily met my needs and exceeded expectations.

"You don,t get what you pay for!" 2009-12-28
By Foreign Buyer
After paying more than $1000 for this item at Best Buy and investing another $200 for another remote speaker from Amazon, the main unit started showing "Press Power Protector" just a few months and about ten uses after purchase. There is no Power Protector button to press and all of Sony's online suggestions did not work. I can't seem to find anyone who is able to fix what seems like a minor problem so now I have a useless bunch of junk. Since I live outside the US, returning the unit would be far too expensive. Wish I had bought one of those less expensive models, although the picture and sound was great while this worked. Has anyone else had this problem with this product?
