Really great sound and stereo separation, plenty of volume in an 18x34 room, and the woofer really rumbles. Makes staying home on Friday nights fun again! We're very pleased.

Actually, this is as much a review of Amazon as it is of the LG home theater. When I first received it, installation was simple and direct considering the very limited instructions obviously translated from the original Chinese. The problem, however, was that I couldn't access the menu from the remote. It just ignored me and played sound out of the two front speakers only.
I made the mistake of contacting LG customer service. What a joke. After answering the questions such as "is it plugged in" for five minutes, the lady told me that I'd have to box it up and send it back for repair. It would take from 3 to 5 weeks!
Bogus! I was not going to be out my hard-earned money for 3 to 5 weeks so I contacted Amazon on-line for return. NO SWEAT. A couple of clicks and a new set was on its way to me. Two days later, I'm up and running and loving it. The sound is great and everything works as it should. I also bought a LG 32" HDTV and run all with Dish Network 722. Great system.
Kudos to Amazon! There's a reason I buy my electronic stuff from them.

This was my first home theater system. I never really demanded much from the speakers on my TV as I didnt mind, or know the difference between stock vs theater system. After building my HTPC I figured it was time to enhance the experience with some type of entry/mid level system. After looking at reviews on NE and here, I found this to be a solid bet. LG has produced another great product. The sound is impressive for the price. The options on this sub 200 dollar system is very nice. I live in a one bedroom condo and this thing rarely goes above the level 10-13 mark on volume. I already know this thing may irritate neighbors in the future, but I will be in audio bliss. It has some very good highs/lows, and the sub is like the reviews stated, powerful and deep sound for being unpowered. I know there are other systems out there that could provide an overwhelming experience for my setup, but I think this was a great choice for a entry level setup, factoring in the size of my room, 18x12, and price. The DVD player also has the option for divx and avi formats which means I can burn my own movies. Keep in mind the average avi, mp4, divx 700mb file from torrent sites don't have 5.1 channel in audio. Still the 2.1 setup with these files is still sweet enough for me. I would recommend this to others, if you are in the market for the same specs as I was.
Update***
After having this for over 30 days, I have noticed that the HDMI port is loosing connection frequently. That was a big reason why I ordered this thing, but now I cannot watch movies without it dropping out. I have tried different ports on the TV, different cables, and still loose connection while watching movies. I am going to try out my monitor and other TV's HDMI ports. Not cool as this thing only has one HDMI port and I just crossed my 30 day return date. Hopefully Amazon's Customer Support will come through.

I was very disappointed to find out that the center speaker's left outlet hole (the speaker has two holes)does not actually work!! I called LG and they told me that it's the design of the system!!! The center speaker although has two holes but it has only one speaker which comes out of the right outlet hole. So the left one is just for looks and nothing else!!!
Why would LG design such a thing? Why not just leave it with one outlet hole or better yet place two speakers in the center speaker so both holes can generate sounds?!! I just do not understand such a design and to me it's highly flawed.
All in all it's not a bad home theater system if you're expectation is not state of the art system!!
